Manchester University STEM Challenge

Five of our very able year eight students were invited to the University of Manchester recently to enter the Faraday Challenge. Students aged twelve and thirteen compete against one another to see who can design , create and promote the best solution to a given challenge. All challenges set are genuine, real life- engineering problems. Our budding engineers, working with BBC Micro:bit, created a code , which generated an ear piercing noise if you accidentally touched your phone whilst driving. Presenting to the judges from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, they came a very close second. They worked so hard and were a credit to our school.
Well done year eight!
