Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 28th September, Maghull High Sixth Form came together to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning and helped raise over with cancer.

Bringing millions of people together for coffee and cake each September, Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become a British institution over the years – with thousands of events happening up and down the country including in Maghull High School.

As part of their coffee morning, Maghull High’s Sixth Form students chose to invite Macmillan’s very own nurses whom this event centres around, and were delighted to welcome staff from their team at Aintree hospital. It was an honour for staff and students to meet the team of Macmillan nurses and hear first hand of the incredible work they do to support those living with cancer.

Speaking after the event, Assistant Head of Sixth Form Miss Murphy said:

“We really enjoyed doing our bit for this year’s Coffee Morning. It was great to get people together, have a nibble and a natter and raise money for Macmillan to help people living with cancer at the same time. I want to thank everyone who supported and helped to make it a success. Cancer has affected all at Maghull High School, either directly or indirectly and some have worked closely with Macmillan, so it was nice to give back to such a worthwhile cause. I am so proud of our fantastic Sixth Form students for their overwhelming support in making our Coffee Morning such a success by not only helping with its organisation, but through the countless cakes they brought in to be sold. Our students have proven once again their unwavering kindness and generosity when it comes to raising money for charity”
