Wonderful Geography Competition
- Category: News
- Created on 08 October 2019
Taking inspiration from the Geographical Association's annual photography competiition the Geography department have decided to run our own photography competition, open to all students Year7-13; there are two categories – KS3, and KS4/5.
The theme of the competition is ‘Wonderful Geography'.
To enter, you should take a photograph of some aspect of Geography, either human or physical that shows how Geography is wonderful.
This could be a feature or something that captures a process. It need not be only something on a grand scale but might equally be a small-scale feature of Geography; it might also be something seen in an urban environment as much as a feature of the countryside or a ‘wild’ area; and it could be taken locally or from somewhere further afield.
When you have taken your photo you will need to give it a title and a brief description - no more than 250 words - to describe what Geography it shows and explain how and why it is wonderful, using geographical language to help create a concise and accurate description. Do your best to persuade about the wonder of Geography.
Please could you let your forms know about this opportunity. The closing date is the 9th December, however, the more, and earlier I receive photos the sooner I can start on classroom/corridor displays. Photos with accompanying descriptions should be emailed to me at donnang@maghullhigh.com
