COVID 19 - Enforced School Closure

Following the announcement from the Education Secretary, Maghull High School will be closed for the majority of students from Friday 20 March until further notice.

The school will remain open for children whose parents/carers fall into the categories of ‘Key Worker’ and vulnerable children.

As an immediate priority, it is essential we capture information in the fields of employment of our parents/carers in order for us to identify 'key worker' families so we can make contact regarding educational provision.

  • The name(s) and year group of your child(ren) who attend Maghull High School
  • The job and title of each employer for each adult within the household

Please could you complete the survey below:

We politely request a response from all our parents/carers, not just those who believe they fall into the key worker category. Please provide this information by 3:00 pm, Thursday 19 March. Once it has been received we will make contact with all parents who fall into the 'key worker' category.

Parents/carers with children in key worker categories may choose to keep their child at home.

All children in receipt of Free School Meals will be issued with national vouchers to use to purchase food as soon as possible.

GCSE, A level and Applied General examinations will not take place this year. I am very aware of the significance of this announcement and we await details from central Government and OFQUAL of how students will receive their grades.

In the meantime, please continue to follow Government guidance regarding Covid-19 and self-isolation.

This is an incredibly difficult time for us all and I sincerely thank you for your continued support.
