Sefton Bullying Conference

On Wednesday, 21st November, we went to Bootle Town Hall for the annual anti-bullying conference. Kayte Walsh from Bullybusters was there and spoke to us about the different forms of bullying. In groups with students from other schools, we had to decide on a definition of bullying and we watched a powerful film called ‘Denial’, which we then discussed. The Anthony Walker Foundation came to tell us the story of Anthony and we watched a video about hate crime. As well as this, we had a talk about hate crime from a police officer from SIGMA, who gave us a helpline number for victims of this.

The day was fun and educational and the other students were really friendly. The lunch was good too! Now we have to prepare a presentation to deliver to the Peer Mentor Student Council group to pass on what we learned, making sure that other students in our school can benefit from the information we brought back from the day.
