The Science department, led by Miss Mercer and Mr Pagett, have recently been involved in a transition project. 25 able pupils from local primary schools have part-taken in a scientific investigation of acid rain. This was an opportunity to ease transition, and to develop key scientific skills such as planning, analysing and evaluating.

Students defy national trends to celebrate best ever GCSE results!!
Pupils in Maghull High School had plenty to smile about when they picked up their GCSE results. Although the number of A* to C grades awarded fell nationally for the 1st time since the exams were introduced, Maghull High School reported success for their students in their exams and praised them for their hard work.
“There were many delighted students at Maghull High School as this year’s GCSE results were opened. We were absolutely delighted with how well our students have done with 93% obtaining the five A*-C benchmark and our highest ever crop of top grades. We were especially please that over 70% of the year obtained A*-C in their Mathematics GCSE."
