Headteacher’s Welcome

Maghull High School is proud of its ethos and standing within the community. Our talented and committed staff are dedicated to enabling each pupil to reach his or her full potential and to become mature and responsible citizens. We have a vibrant extra-curricular life not only through our specialist status as a Performing Arts College but also through our extensive sports programme and cultural experiences.

We have a long standing and supportive partnership with the Southport Learning Trust and will have completed the formal transfer to join their Multi Academy Trust on 1 November 2020.  Joining the Trust will help to further improve the life chances of all students we teach and achieve excellent outcomes for the children of Maghull High School.

Whole School Literacy – Headteacher’s Homework

In keeping with UNESCO’s International Literacy Day on the 8 September, Ms Aspinall set every student a reading homework last week.  Each student MUST have a reading for pleasure book of their own choosing and must bring it to school each day.  They should be ready to talk about this with their form tutor and other members of staff.  UNESCO reminds us that good literacy skills are a necessity for social and personal development, so this really must be a priority for students across the whole school.

Well done to students and staff on GCSE achievements. We are pleased that the majority of students have achieved five or more good GCSE qualifications in a variety of subjects, enabling them to move on to the next steps.
