Headteacher’s Welcome

Maghull High School is proud of its ethos and standing within the community. Our talented and committed staff are dedicated to enabling each pupil to reach his or her full potential and to become mature and responsible citizens. We have a vibrant extra-curricular life not only through our specialist status as a Performing Arts College but also through our extensive sports programme and cultural experiences.


We are delighted to have now formally joined the Southport Learning Trust in November 2020.  Maghull High school are looking forward to working in partnership across the Trust to help to further improve the life chances of all students and achieve excellent outcomes for the children of Maghull High School.

Wider Reopening of the School

We are delighted that we will be welcoming all students back to school week commencing Monday 8 March.  The letters for parents and carers from our headteacher and Sefton Council detail arrangements and expectations.  The student and parent guidance booklets provide further information and should be read before your child returns.  Department for Education advice can be found here and a copy of our full risk assessment here.

Year 9 Options

This is an exciting time for Year 9 students to  take control of their learning and make decisions about their future.  This year, our virtual Year 9 Options page guides parents, carers and students through the options process.

Lateral Flow Device Testing

The government has instructed schools to test students using lateral flow devices (LFDs), for Covid-19 three times on their return to school.  We strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.  If you have not already completed the consent form please follow the link below for more information and electronic form.  The deadline for return is Monday 1 March.


After the initial testing in school has been completed, we will issue home testing kits to those who have consented.  If you have already submitted a consent form, there is no need to complete another.  If you have any queries, please contact covid@maghullhigh.com
