Due to the pandemic opportunities for exhibitions have been limited, however several of our student’s work was entered in to a competition organised by the Royal Academy of Arts, London. Two of our student’s work has been selected for their online exhibition, Zoe McGilvery (Year 7) and Amilia Burke (Year 9). This is a great achievement for both girls, and is a testament to how hard they have worked on developing their art skills. Their work can be viewed at:
Congratulations to Aimee Burns (Year 9) who has been awarded first place in the Dot Art competition for Maghull High School! Aimee used pen and ink to create this incredible skull study which shows her refined drawing skills. Her piece of artwork will now be up against artwork from other schools in the area at part of an exhibition in John Moores University. This part of the competition has been delayed until the autumn term, so watch this space.
Students from Year 9 and 10 have painted a litter bin which is now outside the Halifax Bank, Maghull! The bin was looking tired with rust, peeling paint and graffiti but has been transformed with our students' creative skills. Thank you to Frank Sharp from the Friends of Maghull and Stafford Morton Way Wildflower Crowdfunding Project who has made the transformation of the bins possible
