Homework Information for Parent Booklets   This week students will each receive a homework booklet that gives Parents guidance on the homework that you can expect to be set for each subject area the rest of the term so that you can support your son/daughter’s learning at home. The booklets (available as PDFs) give an indication of the topic areas/task type and the amount of time teachers expect your son/daughter to spend each evening in order to complete the work set.   If you require any further information regarding the contents of the booklet please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Welcome to the Maghull High School Website

Maghull High School award celebrated at Downing Street reception hosted by The Prime Minister The Prime Minister, David Cameron hosted a reception at Downing Street to celebrate excellence in education and Mark Anderson, Headteacher from Maghull High was honoured to be invited to attend. “It was a wonderful surprise to receive the invitation in recognition of the success which our school enjoyed as Outstanding School Team in the 2010 National Teaching Awards. It was great to meet both the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Education but the highlight for me was stepping inside Number 10 itself through that famous front door. It was a shame that our outstanding Performing Arts Faculty who actually won the award were not invited, nevertheless I was proud to be able to fly the flag on behalf of our staff and students.” UK and regional winners from 2011and 2010 were invited to the reception hosted by the Prime Minister on Wednesday 2 November.  Prime Minister, David Cameron said,  "It's incredibly encouraging to know that over 22,000 teachers from across the UK are thought of so highly by their pupils, colleagues and local community that they were nominated for a Teaching Award. This is a testament to the thousands of hard-working and inspirational teachers there are in the country and everyone who was nominated should be proud of the impact they have clearly had on the lives of the children they teach "I would especially like to congratulate the winners who I met in Downing Street. I heard some amazing stories of the passion these teachers bring to the classroom and their drive not just to teach but to make a real difference in their schools. Each one of them should be proud of this achievement."

Rights Respecting School On the 7th March 2012 the school was assessed for the Rights Respecting Schools Award Level 1.  We were attempting to become the first school in Sefton and only the second in Merseyside to achieve this prestigious award.  Rights Respecting Schools is an award that was developed by Unicef and supports the UNCRC Rights of the child through a school framework.  I am delighted to be able to confirm that Maghull High School passed with distinction and received particular praise for the work under taken by the student and staff steering groups but also the ethos it has created within the school. Congratulations to everyone at Maghull High in succeeding in making our school a Rights Respecting School.  We will now commence work on Level 2 and strive to become the first school in Merseyside to achieve that award.
