16-19 Study programme

At Maghull High Sixth Form College our study programme combines qualifications with a range of other activities to meet the needs of each individual student. Our students study a wide range of A levels and applied general courses depending on their career path and prior attainment. All of our students have full time study programmes over 600 planned hours.

All students follow structured careers and personal development programmes during their two years of study, with all students undertaking work experience for a full week during the summer term of Year 12. This provides a core element of each student’s wider enrichment programme to develop their character and skills development. Students also have the opportunity to study the Extended Project Qualification in year 12.

Any students who have not achieved a grade 4 grade in GCSE English and maths are timetabled in lessons to support their study of these examinations until they secure this grade.
