Student Council
The School Council meets regularly to discuss a range of school related issues.
The School Council has over two hundred pupils involved in a number of different action teams which are made up of at least two pupils from each tutor group. This gives each group a true perspective of the school and is able to impact issues in KS3, KS4 and Post 16. This means that pupils are involved in the work of the Council on behalf of the whole school community.
The School Council meetings are chaired by senior members of the action teams, with an attached member of staff. Minutes are kept of all meetings.
The school also has a Rights Respecting Schools Steering Group which involves pupils from Key Stages 3, 4 and Post 16. The work of this group is focused around the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This group includes the work of all of the action teams.
