Technology Technician

POST:Technology Technician

The Governors are seeking to employ a School Technology Technician.  The successful candidate will be an energetic and conscientious individual with a good degree of flexibility, as they will also be required to provide support within the Design/Technology department including Food Technology support. With limited instruction or guidance, the post holder will assist teachers in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources and equipment for pupils.

The technician may also be required to support within lessons where specialist equipment is being used, or additional supervision/instruction is required.

Experience with CAD/CAM, metalwork/woodworking machinery and food health and hygiene would be an advantage.

Design Technology Department

The Design Technology Department currently consists of three teachers who strive to give students the best possible experience within the subject.

The school is part of the Southport Learning Trust which also enhances our technology offer through school to school collaboration.

Resources

The Design Technology Department consists of two specialist workshops, two traditional classrooms equipped with computers, and fully resourced food classroom. Resources include a wide range of tools and machines including 3D printers.

The Department provide a range of experiences outside of the curriculum for students to build their confidence and explore and develop their talents, skills and abilities. We see these activities as an essential part of a good quality education programme.

We are seeking to appoint a HLTA to our Inclusion team to enhance and bolster support for both individual and groups of students who identify with cognition and learning needs. The successful candidate, working alongside our key stage 2/3 teachers and inclusion team will support both groups and individuals to make good progress in their learning. We are seeking to appoint a School Home Support Officer to join our team and to make a difference in children’s lives every single day.  As the School Home Support Officer, you will work directly with families, in partnership with school staff and outside agencies to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support.

The School Home Support Officer will work with parents and carers to offer support on children’s engagement; provide information about school matters, visit families at home; and link families to other support services.  They will provide transition support as pupils change classes or schools. The successful candidate will also help improve school achievement and attendance and build parents’ confidence in dealing with behaviour issues.

The postholder will promote a positive image of the school at all times and ensure that safeguarding policy and procedures are adhered to.

Teacher of Business Studies and Computing

POST:Teacher of Business Studies and Computing : Full Time Permanent

The governors are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher of Business Studies and Computing who has the drive, skills and enthusiasm to join our successful, highly motivated and supportive IT faculty.  We are looking for someone with passion for the subjects, who is creative and will support improving outcomes across the faculty.

You will be required to deliver across the age and ability ranges and to join the team in further driving the faculty to excellence across.  We continually aim to raise the aspirations of all students in our care and support our students to achieve their full potential.  Students in key stage 3 study Computing, in key stage 4 students may study GCSE Computer Science, BTEC Level 2 in Digital IT and BTEC Level 2 in Enterprise.  At key stage 5 students study A Level Computer Science, BTEC Level 3 in Business Studies and BTEC Level 3 in IT.  It is not essential to have experience teaching key stage 5 to apply for this post. 

The selected candidate will be an inspirational classroom practitioner and actively contribute to the extra-curricular provision offered within the school.
